DxOMark Labs verdict Photo and video functions of the Samsung Galaxy Z flip smartphone The total score is 105, 109 for photos, and 96 for videos. The smartphone competitors in the DxOMark ranking were the iPhone XS Max (106 points) and the Asus ZenFone 6 (104 points). Experts appreciated the exact exposure and estimation of the white balance, a “beautiful” color rendering, and overall good noise management. The ultra-wide-angle camera was praised and the bokeh mode gave average results.

Low detail and a high noise level are found when shooting in poor lighting conditions, autofocus does not work as fast as analogs. The Galaxy Z Flip also plays in zoom due to the lack of a separate telephoto lens.

In the video, the camera “provides bright, pleasant colors and accurate exposure”, fast autofocus and effective stabilization are noted. However, there is a limited dynamic range, noise, and sometimes varying sharpness.

The smartphone is equipped with a 6.7-inch folding display with a resolution of 2636 × 1080 pixels, a Snapdragon 855+ chipset with 8 GB of RAM, a 3300 mAh battery and specially optimized for Android 10. There is an additional 1.1-inch screen on the outside. The set of photosensors is as follows: two 12-megapixel cameras on the back (f / 1.8 + f / 2.2), and a 10-megapixel front sensor with an f / 2.4 aperture. Experts first test the device, then give recommendations on setting up the software and only then do the final checks that fall into the material.
